A Serious Christmas Reflection

I’ve recently been reflecting on past Christmas seasons. The hustle and bustle, the snowy roads of my hometown, the wood stove warmed church, drinking hot coffee in the snow-topped car… and the hours spent slumping through the Northtown mall.
Ah, how I would slump. How I would trudge around that mall, searching for gifts, scouring until the fluorescent lights and terrible department store music finally pushed me out the doors, a worse person for the whole experience.
I have many fond memories from past Christmas seasons, but the annual mall crawl is not one of them. So many hours that could have been spent with friends and family, on walks in the snowy woods, or curled up in front of the fire, were instead lost to the toil of holiday shopping.
It took many years to learn a better way: the coffee way.
Stick with me... I mean, you knew this was coming, after all.
There are two tea drinkers in my family of 16. That means 87% of my shopping is complete with one simple gift: a good bag of coffee. I recognize not every family's beverage demographics are as fortunate as mine-- but consider, even a 50/50 split could cut your holiday shopping time in half. Talk about statistically significant!
Maybe you're not at all like myself and you actually enjoy a treacherous holiday gift hunt at the mall. The thought of walking for hours in circles invigorates you. The smell of pretzels mingled with smelly lotion and linoleum excites you.
If so... disregard this email. [Reading this as a blog post? Sign up for our email list in the footer of the page!]
For the rest of you shopping scrooges...
You holiday humbugs...
All y'all gift-giving grinches...
I've been there. I understand the overwhelming feeling you get when you step into a J.C. Penny and are faced with a gazillion products. It doesn't have to be this way; in fact, at Coffee Hour Co., you'll be delighted to find we have only two coffees to choose from.
